LASG Appeals to Protesters to Go Home
The Lagos State Government has urged participants in the ongoing nationwide #Hunger Protest to disperse, assuring them that their demands have been heard and actions are underway. Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, conveyed this message during an interview at Ojota Underbridge on Friday.
Omotoso praised the protesters for their peaceful conduct and implored them to allow the government to address their grievances. “You, the protesters, have exercised your rights. And the Governor has heard them. Now is the time to go home so that Mr. Governor can move into action. Now is the time to end the protest because Mr. Sanwo-Olu has heard you loud and clear,” he said.
He recalled the aftermath of the #EndSARS protest, emphasizing the need to prevent similar destruction. Omotoso also commended security officers for their exemplary conduct and reassured that Governor Sanwo-Olu will continue to engage with the youth of Lagos.
