LASRRA Establishes Dedicated Centre at LASU for Registration
The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) unveiled plans to enhance registration accessibility for all residents, regardless of background, by setting up a dedicated centre at the Lagos State University (LASU) main campus in Ojo. This move aims to simplify the registration and validation process for both staff and students, aligning with the State Government’s inclusive plans.
During a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, MNI, NPOM, by LASRRA’s General Manager, Mrs. Adebiyi-Abiola Bilikiss, the significance of including all members of the institution in the agency’s database was highlighted. This initiative seeks to ensure comprehensive welfare planning and socio-economic well-being for the university’s community.
Mrs. Adebiyi-Abiola emphasized that the dedicated centre’s establishment at LASU would streamline registration, validation, and LAG-ID pick-up processes, eliminating the need for staff and students to travel across different LG/LCDAs for these procedures. The registration process begins with online registration, followed by biometric capture, culminating in the issuance of a versatile smart card.
Acknowledging the importance of aligning with LASRRA’s database directive for Lagos State-funded institutions, Professor Olatunji-Bello endorsed the dedicated centre initiative and directed the university’s ICT department to collaborate with the LASRRA team to ensure its successful implementation.
Principal Officers from various Directorates of the institution were present during the courtesy visit by the LASRRA team.
