Maiduguri inland dry port to be ready in six months — Gov Zulum
Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has announced that the inland dry port in Maiduguri will be completed within six months, marking a significant milestone in the state’s economic development. Speaking during a visit to the Nigerian Shippers Council in Lagos, Governor Zulum emphasized that the dry port will create numerous employment opportunities for the youth and enhance trans-border trade with neighboring countries, including Niger, Chad, and Cameroon. The project, part of a broader initiative to diversify Nigeria’s economy away from oil dependency, is expected to boost the region’s economic growth and increase the nation’s GDP. Governor Zulum’s commitment to this project reflects his administration’s focus on infrastructural development as a catalyst for economic prosperity.
