Mgbom Na Achara Community Praises Governor Nwifuru for 12km Road Project
The people of Mgbom Na Achara, Okposi in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have expressed their deep appreciation to Governor Francis Nwifuru for initiating the construction of the 12-kilometer Ogwumabiri/Ojigwe road in their community.
This sentiment was captured in a communiqué issued at the conclusion of the National Executive Committee meeting held over the weekend, signed by Barr. Philip Ude Eze, President General; Comrade Udechukwu Obaji, Secretary General; and Ms. Ngozichi Okorie, Publicity Secretary.
The community leaders commended Governor Nwifuru for addressing a long-standing need in their community, which they described as a significant relief for the people of Mgbom Na Achara. In response, they pledged their full support for all the programs and policies of his administration.
The communiqué also highlighted the community’s plans to fill the vacant stool of Eze in Mgbom Na Achara Autonomous Community, following the passing of HRH late Eze Asu Udeogu, Namoke II. The Exco resolved to initiate the process of selecting a new Eze from Mgbom Enu Kindred in accordance with the community’s constitution.
Additionally, the Exco expressed concern over ongoing mining activities at Ogbu-Enu Mgbom, emphasizing the importance of compliance with mining laws and the need for a reclamation plan to protect the health and safety of residents in the surrounding areas. They vowed to work closely with landowners to address all environmental, safety, and health concerns.
Finally, the Exco rescheduled a previously canceled stakeholders’ meeting to Saturday, August 31, 2024, and urged the community to remain law-abiding to ensure the smooth continuation of the road construction and the peaceful selection of the new Eze.
