Minister Praises Ekiti’s Contribution to Tourism Growth
The Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, commended Ekiti State for its significant contribution to the advancement of tourism in Nigeria. Speaking at the launch of the Ecogenesis Incubator Programme, Ade-John specifically highlighted the Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort and Conference Centre as a standout tourist destination in the country.
Expressing her admiration for Ikogosi, Ade-John emphasized the charm and allure of the location, stating that the government is dedicated to partnering with the private sector to support the growth of tourism at iconic sites like Ikogosi Resort. She encouraged Nigerians to explore the resort’s hiking trails and embrace the natural beauty of the country.
Ade-John stressed the importance of sharing the unique stories of communities across Nigeria, noting that such narratives enrich the tourism experience. She emphasized the significance of hiking trails in enabling tourists to connect with local communities and experience their culture firsthand.
The Minister’s remarks align with the objectives of the Federal Government’s Ecogenesis Incubator programme, which aims to empower residents, tour operators, and guides with the necessary skills to thrive in the tourism industry.
In response, Lanre Balogun, the General Manager of Glocient Hospitality, expressed gratitude for the support of both the federal and state governments.
