N-HYPPADEC Commissions N613 Million Erosion Control Project in Kwara
The Kwara State Government, in collaboration with the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC), has commissioned a N613 million erosion control project in Patigi local government area. This project aims to address long-standing erosion issues affecting the community.
Abubakar Yelwa, Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, highlighted that the project aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He commended the community’s support, which facilitated the project’s completion, and urged residents to maintain the infrastructure to prevent future issues.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, represented by Environment Commissioner Hajia Nafisat Buge, emphasized the importance of avoiding activities that could damage the new infrastructure. He called on community leaders and youth organizations to be proactive in maintaining the project.
The Etsu of Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, expressed gratitude for the intervention, noting its positive impact on the community. He urged continued support for similar projects and called for job creation to further benefit the local youth.
