Nasarawa State to Host 2025 Unity Pre-season Tournament
Nasarawa State is set to host the 2025 Unity Pre-season Tournament, an annual football event designed to prepare clubs for the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. This announcement was made by Patrick Ngwaogu, Chairman and Sponsor of the Abuja Unity Pre-season Tournament, during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The tournament will be held at the Lafia Township Stadium, thanks to the Nasarawa State government’s approval. Ngwaogu highlighted the significance of the event, which fosters team-building and provides an opportunity for clubs to assess their rosters ahead of the new football season. Several junior players from this year’s tournament, including six standout talents, are on the verge of being signed by NPFL clubs.
The 2024 tournament concluded with Likeminds Football Club of Gwagwalada defeating Niger Tornadoes of Minna 1-0 in the final, securing victory through a goal by Lucky Chidum Ojukwu. This prestigious event continues to grow, providing a platform for both experienced and emerging football talent in Nigeria.
