Nasarawa University Partners with State to Combat Hepatitis
The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has partnered with the Nasarawa State government to address hepatitis prevalence through a community health initiative. Free testing, counseling, vaccination, and treatment were offered in Gandu. Vice-Chancellor Shehu Abdul-Rahman emphasized the initiative’s importance in improving public health. The state’s Commissioner for Health, Gaza Gwamna, noted that the government is working across local government areas to address hepatitis, reflecting the administration’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services. The event also marked World Hepatitis Day, emphasizing the ongoing effort to combat the disease.
