Niger State Ensures Counterpart Funding for Basic Education
Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) announces its commitment to teacher training and retraining strategies at basic education levels. The board, led by Executive Chairman Mallam Muhammad Baba Ibrahim, states that it has met counterpart fund payments at the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) up to the 2022 backlog. Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago directed the honoring of all counterpart funding obligations in the state. While emphasizing the need for realistic work plans, the NSUBEB chairman highlights the importance of updating teachers’ knowledge in basic education to align with current realities.
