Niger State to Host Nutritious Food Fair in December
The Niger State Government, in partnership with HarvestPlus and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition, will host the 10th Nutritious Food Fair on December 10 in Minna. The Commissioner for Agriculture, Musa Salihu Bawa Bosso, announced the fair, emphasizing its role in showcasing innovations in nutritious food production, supporting local farmers, and fostering investment in sustainable agriculture.
The fair will feature panel discussions, cooking competitions, and networking opportunities, all aimed at promoting biofortified crops like vitamin A maize and iron millet to combat malnutrition. First Lady Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Umaru Bago will be honored as the “Smart Mother of the State,” advocating for accessible nutrition education for women. The event reflects Governor Bago’s commitment to advancing agriculture and health in Niger State.
