NIS Partners with Nasarawa State to Combat Illegal Mining by Expatriates
The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has partnered with the Nasarawa State Government to tackle the illegal mining of solid minerals by expatriates in the state. Controller Ubale Sekure, who led the NIS delegation, assured Governor Abdullahi Sule that the Service is committed to identifying and addressing the activities of foreigners involved in illegal mining. Sekure highlighted plans to deploy officers to monitor expatriates, verify their legal status, and take action against those operating illegally. Governor Sule welcomed the initiative, acknowledging the challenges of identifying illegal expatriates and emphasizing the need for legal and transparent business operations in the state.
