Ogun Fixes Date to Hold LG Elections
The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission has announced that local government elections will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024. This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, in a statement released to journalists in Abeokuta on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the release of guidelines for the elections and a stakeholders meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 8, 2024. Campaigns by political parties will commence on Friday, August 9. Political parties are also scheduled to hold their primaries between Monday, August 26, and Monday, September 9, 2024.
