Ogun State Empowers Youth with Grants and Entrepreneurial Opportunities
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to empowering the youth with substantial financial support and entrepreneurial opportunities. As part of the upcoming phase of the Ogun Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Programme (OGYES), the state government will offer grants ranging from N500,000 to N10 million to business-oriented youths, providing them with the resources needed to expand their ventures.
Speaking at the Remo International Youth Day event, Governor Abiodun emphasized the significance of these initiatives in fostering youth development and economic growth. He announced that, alongside financial grants, the programme would offer interest-free digital loans, digital training enterprises, and technical and vocational training to equip young people with the skills necessary for thriving in today’s economy.
The governor also unveiled plans to launch the Ogun Youth Agricultural Programme, which will train thousands of youths in innovative farming techniques such as Soilless Farm Lab technology. This initiative, he noted, aligns with the state’s broader goal of ensuring sustainable food production and agricultural advancement.
Governor Abiodun’s administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment for youth empowerment, as evidenced by ongoing infrastructure projects and agricultural development efforts. The governor’s vision is to harness the potential of Ogun State’s youth to drive the state’s future prosperity.
