Ogun State Government Denounces Baseless Allegations of Trillion-Naira Road Project Spending
The Ogun State government has firmly dismissed rumors circulating on social media, alleging that it spent trillions of Naira on various projects, including a supposed expenditure of N1 trillion on a single road. In a statement, the government clarified that these claims are completely unfounded, fabricated, and clearly intended to tarnish the reputation of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration.
Governor Abiodun’s Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, highlighted that these baseless allegations are the work of political opponents attempting to distract and undermine the government. He emphasized that the state’s financial management under Governor Abiodun has been diligent, transparent, and accountable from the beginning.
“The accusation of spending N1 trillion on a road project is not only absurd but also a clear product of imagination. How could Ogun State possibly generate such an amount?” Akinmade questioned, noting that the state’s annual budget cannot accommodate such an unrealistic figure.
The statement also reassured the public that the Ogun State government remains committed to prioritizing people-oriented policies, programs, and projects within the limits of its revenues. Governor Abiodun continues to receive accolades for his transparent leadership, which stands in stark contrast to the unfounded claims made by his detractors.
Akinmade urged the public to dismiss these falsehoods and recognize them as desperate tactics by political adversaries who seek to score cheap political points through misinformation.
