Ogun State Government Launches Health Screening Program for Hajj Pilgrims
The Ogun State government has commenced a comprehensive medical screening and inoculation program for prospective Hajj pilgrims, in preparation for a smooth 2024 Hajj pilgrimage. Led by Salau Dauda, Executive Secretary of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, the program aims to ensure the health and well-being of pilgrims before their journey to Mecca and Medina.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to pilgrims’ health and safety, Dauda encouraged cooperation from prospective pilgrims to facilitate a successful screening process. He stressed the importance of maintaining good conduct during the pilgrimage.
Dr. Rabiu Kusimo, head of the medical team, provided counsel to intending pilgrims, advising them to bring along prescribed medications and take precautions to prevent dehydration and sun exposure during the pilgrimage.
Prospective pilgrims, Adefunke Arala and Ayangbola Kazeem, expressed appreciation for the government’s efforts, noting that the screening program would contribute to their well-being and safety during the Hajj pilgrimage.
