Ogun State Government to Prosecute Student and Parents for Assault
The Ogun State Government announces plans to prosecute a student, Azeez Olawale, and his parents for assaulting a teacher and the principal of Agbara Grammar School. The incident occurred after the principal seized Olawale’s uniform for alleged misconduct. Despite attempts to resolve the situation, Olawale and his parents resorted to physical violence against school staff. Commissioner for Education, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu, condemns the incident and assures that the perpetrators will face legal consequences. The Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) also calls for appropriate sanctions against those involved in the assault.
