Ogun State’s Ibara Regeneration Scheme: No Reselling Allotted Lands
The Ogun State Government has cautioned allottees of the Ibara Regeneration Scheme against selling their lands. Commissioner for Housing, Jamiu Omoniyi, emphasized that reselling would undermine the initiative’s goal of creating a world-class city. Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting, he highlighted the government’s vision to develop a prestigious estate, akin to Banana Island, to attract residents from abroad and other states.
Omoniyi warned that lands must be developed within 60 days to avoid revocation. The scheme aims to rejuvenate the Ibara Estate, originally built for civil servants, into a valuable asset for Ogun State. The plan is to boost the area’s value and appeal with significant development.
Tunde Olugbewesa, Special Adviser to the Governor, encouraged proper layout for larger land parcels. Chief Bode Mustapha praised the government’s efforts to revitalize Abeokuta. Meanwhile, Gbenga Adeoye from the Egba Economic Summit urged enhanced security measures in the area.
