Ondo State Begins Implementation of N35,000 Wage Boost for State Workers

The Ondo State government has officially sanctioned the payment of a N35,000 provisional wage increase to employees on the state payroll. Announced by Kayode Ogundele, the state’s head of service, during a meeting with labor union leaders, the wage increment, effective from November, will persist for six months. The increased payment will be disbursed alongside the November salary, demonstrating the government’s commitment to mitigating the impact of petrol subsidy removal on workers. Additionally, the state has initiated a monthly additional N10,000 payment to retirees and provided transportation facilities for its employees. These measures will continue concurrently with the wage award.
