Ondo State Collaborates with Nigeria Immigration Service to Address Illegal Immigration
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to partnering with the State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to tackle the issue of illegal immigration. During a meeting with top officers of the NIS Ondo State Command, led by State Comptroller Mrs. Grace Olaitan Adeoye, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in combating illegal immigration and human trafficking. He commended the Immigration Service for its efforts in identifying and apprehending illegal immigrants within the state, stressing the need for accurate data collection and cooperation between the government and the NIS to effectively address the issue. In response, Comptroller Adeoye expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with Governor Aiyedatiwa and his administration, highlighting the vital role of the Immigration Service in combating human trafficking and illegal immigration. She also requested support for the rehabilitation of certain structures at the NIS office.
