Ondo State Governor Prioritizes Entrepreneurship, Awards Grants to Innovative Entrepreneurs
Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship as a solution to current economic challenges. Speaking at the Entrepreneurs’ 3rd Summit 2024 in Akure, he highlighted the role of entrepreneurs in driving innovation, job creation, and economic growth. Aiyedatiwa announced significant support for entrepreneurs, including farming equipment distribution to farmers and cash grants and business support packages to innovative entrepreneurs.
The summit, themed “Innovative Entrepreneurship For Sustainable Economy,” attracted thousands of young entrepreneurs, reflecting the state’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship. Aiyedatiwa commended the Ondo State Entrepreneurship Development Agency (ONDEA) for its impactful initiatives, which have transformed lives and businesses through funding, digitization, and skills acquisition programs.
The governor reiterated his administration’s dedication to creating an enabling environment for entrepreneurship to thrive. He emphasized collaboration with the private sector and youth empowerment as essential elements for unlocking the state’s economic potential. Aiyedatiwa also announced the hosting of the Global Entrepreneurship Festival in November 2024, demonstrating Ondo State’s commitment to promoting innovation globally.
Dr. Summy Smart Francis, Special Adviser to the Governor on Entrepreneurship Development and CEO of ONDEA, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for nurturing young entrepreneurs and fostering a conducive business environment. He highlighted the training and empowerment initiatives undertaken by ONDEA, emphasizing the business opportunities created for entrepreneurs.
