Ondo State Vows to Fortify Warehouses to Prevent Looting
The Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has assured the Federal Government of measures to fortify warehouses to prevent the hijacking or looting of grains by hoodlums. The governor also pledged to collaborate closely with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for the effective distribution of grains from the National Reserve to beneficiaries in the state, following directives from President Bola Tinubu. The State Governor commended President Tinubu for initiatives aimed at alleviating food scarcity and praised NEMA for its timely disaster management interventions. He emphasized the importance of security for the warehouses and urged the federal agency to send grains suitable for the Southwest region. The NEMA Southwest Zonal Director expressed gratitude for the state government’s support and highlighted recent restructuring efforts within the agency to enhance disaster management across the country.
