President Tinubu Approves Aviation College for Akure in Historic National Split

0

In a transformative move, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the establishment of a national Aviation College in Akure as part of the decentralization of the Nigerian College of Aviation, Zaria, Kaduna State. The new structure creates six campuses, one for each geopolitical zone:

1. Akure (Southwest)

2. Osubi (South-South)

3. Ebonyi (Southeast)

4. Ilorin (North Central)

5. Yola (Northeast)

This decision, hailed as a victory for equity and inclusion, marks a significant milestone for Ondo State, which has often been overlooked in federal projects. The Aviation College in Akure promises to enhance educational opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the region.

If President Tinubu completes the already-approved projects for Ondo State—such as the Ore-Ondo-Akure dualization, Ado-Akure dualization, Ilesha-Akure-Owo-Benin dualization, a Teaching Hospital for FUTA, and this Aviation College—his legacy would solidify him as one of the most impactful leaders for Ondo State.
