Rep Salman Idris Celebrates Over 300 New APC Members, Praises Governor Ododo’s Leadership
Arc. Salman Idris, the Member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, has enthusiastically welcomed over 300 new members who have defected from the PDP, NNPP, ADC, and SDP to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement made in Abuja, Idris attributed the large-scale defection to the outstanding leadership and effective governance demonstrated by Governor Usman Ododo’s administration. The new members were officially received by prominent APC figures, including Navy Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi Jones, and other key party leaders at a special event in Iluke Ward.
Rep. Idris assured the new members of equal treatment and opportunities within the party, emphasizing their integral role in the APC. He encouraged them to continue their support for Governor Ododo’s administration to contribute to its ongoing success.
The lawmaker also commended key party stakeholders, including Hon. Wemi Jones, Navy Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), and the former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mathew Kolawole, for their dedication to strengthening the party. Notable defectors include Pastor Felix Oni, the NNPP’s Deputy Governorship candidate in 2023; Chief Babatunde Inumidun Obamuwe; Mr. Ariyo Dayo Aroniyo (Arose); and Adebayo Frank Olorunfemi, all of whom have joined the APC from various opposition parties.
