Senator Uba Sani Emphasizes Agriculture’s Significance for State Economies
Senator Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State, attended the 137th Meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) chaired by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Discussions at the Council centered on reports regarding the Natural Catastrophe Insurance Fund, Health Sector Renewal Programme, National Flood Mitigation Roadmap, and the Assisted Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) Programme, with Kaduna State among the seven participating states.
The Council reiterated the imperative for State Governments to prioritize agricultural development to bolster their economies and ensure food security. Emphasizing the need to leverage opportunities offered by multilateral organizations led by Nigerians, such as the African Development Bank and AFREXIM Bank, State governments were encouraged to maximize agricultural benefits.
