Shettima and Sanwo-Olu Advocate for Collaborative Development in Africa
At the Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS 3.0) held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Vice President Kasim Shettima and Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu underscored the importance of collaboration, innovative thinking, and effective policies for sustainable growth in Africa. Themed “Reimagining Progress: A New Blueprint for Sustainable Growth in Africa,” the summit highlighted a comprehensive approach to drive progress and prosperity on the continent.
Represented by Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Vice President Shettima emphasized the need for innovation and social impact in sectors like agriculture and energy. He assured that the government is committed to creating an investor-friendly climate, streamlining regulations, and fostering innovation through a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, stressed the importance of establishing a collaborative framework and providing impact investment opportunities to achieve sustainable development. He affirmed that his administration, aligned with the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Development Agenda, is ready to work with partners to reshape Africa’s future.
The summit, described as a call to action, aims to foster innovative partnerships and advocate for policies that attract impactful investments. Effective policies and stakeholder involvement were highlighted as crucial for sustainable development.
Sterling One Foundation’s CEO, Mrs. Olapeju Ibekwe, outlined the summit’s objectives: building and scaling policies, attracting impact investment, and advocating for the right policies. The summit has facilitated significant investments, fostering partnerships between the public and private sectors.
