Sokoto Releases N300 Million for 2024 Gratuity Payments
Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State has directed the immediate release of N300 million monthly for the payment of gratuities to civil servants who retired in 2024. The payment will benefit retirees from January 2024 to date and is part of Governor Aliyu’s commitment to supporting retirees and their families during this challenging time.
The Sokoto State Gratuity Payment Committee, chaired by State Accountant General Alhaji Umar Balarabe Ahmad, has also made significant progress in clearing backlog gratuities from 2015 to December 2023. The payment process for 2024 retirees will be formalized on a “first-come, first-served” basis to ensure efficiency.
