The Sokoto State Executive Council (SEC), under the leadership of Governor Ahmad Aliyu, has taken bold steps to enhance education and infrastructure in the state. On November 27, 2024, the council approved key recommendations from the Bature Shinkafi Committee, ensuring a more efficient alignment of tertiary institutions with appropriate ministries for better oversight and performance.

As part of this realignment, the College of Nursing Sciences, the College of Legal Studies, and the College of Agriculture Wurno will now operate under the Ministries of Health, Justice, and Agriculture, respectively. The council also endorsed the review of laws governing the College of Nursing and Midwifery Tambuwal and the College of Health Technology Gwadabawa for better supervision and functionality.

Governor Aliyu’s administration also prioritized urban development by approving the rehabilitation of five critical roads in the Mabera area. These projects will ease transportation, improve accessibility, and boost local economic activities.

In addition, preparations are underway for the presentation of the 2025 budget, which will focus on fulfilling the administration’s nine-point agenda aimed at enhancing citizens’ quality of life. These initiatives underscore the governor’s dedication to delivering impactful governance and meaningful development.
