Transformative Initiative: Imota Unveils 80-Bed Hospital for Maternal and Child Healthcare
In a significant stride toward bolstering healthcare, the recently inaugurated 80-bed maternal and child hospital in Imota, Ikorodu, Lagos State, marks a remarkable achievement. Speaker Tajudeen Abass officially opened this facility, facilitated by Babajimi Benson, constructed and equipped by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During the inauguration, Abass commended Benson’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling democratic promises and ensuring top-notch healthcare services. This initiative underscores the government’s dedication to citizens’ health, offering state-of-the-art facilities equipped to address diseases and emergencies, particularly focusing on maternal and child health. The hospital aims to provide essential health services to the community.
Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for supporting SDG-related interventions. She acknowledged Governor Babajide Sanwoolu’s contributions to socio-economic transformation in Lagos State and highlighted the hospital’s role in delivering adequate health services to reduce childbirth-related mortality rates.
Babajimi Benson expressed gratitude to Abass and the SSA on SDGs for their roles in completing the project. The traditional ruler of Imota, Oba Ajibade Agoro, emphasized that the hospital would offer easier and more cost-effective healthcare access to the local community, marking a significant step in delivering essential health services.
