UBEC Refutes Claims on Kwara Schools, Labels Report ‘False’
The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has officially denied a media report that misrepresented the commission’s views on the state of schools in Kwara State. According to a statement from UBEC, no such comments were made during a recent visit to a Master Trainers’ workshop in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Special Assistant to the UBEC Executive Secretary, Unwaha Yahaya Ismaila, clarified that the report was inaccurate and did not reflect any actual statements or evaluations of the educational conditions in Kwara or other states. UBEC reassured that the Executive Secretary did not use the forum to criticize state education efforts and emphasized the commission’s commitment to supporting the effective implementation of the UBE program without casting aspersions on any state’s initiatives.
