Yobe ACReSAL Empowers Communities Through Climate-Resilient Farming Initiatives
The Yobe Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project has empowered 19 communitieswith knowledge of the Community Revolving Fund (CRF) scheme to enhance sustainable agricultural practices and community resilience.
The workshop, held at Federal University Gashua, educated participants from Bade, Jakusko, Yusufari, and Yunusari local governments on the CRF’s benefits and implementation strategies. According to Mr. Shehu Alhaji Mohammed, ACReSAL State Project Coordinator, the CRF represents 10% of the project’s funding, aimed at fostering climate-smart agriculture.
The initiative includes establishing CRF Management Committees (CRFMCs) with at least 40% female representation and formal community registration. The program reflects the project’s commitment to promoting sustainable land management and improving livelihoods in Yobe State.
