Yobe State Government Clarifies Allegation on Palliative Payment to Workers

Responding to claims that workers were paid N10,000 instead of the approved N35,000, the government clarified that there was never an approval for such a payment. The media report in question was deemed inaccurate and misleading by the office of the Head of Service and the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Yobe State chapter. The government explained that a committee was constituted to negotiate with labor on a palliative figure, and the agreed amount was N10,000 per civil servant.
