Yobe State Governor Explores International Trade Opportunities with Qatar
Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State highlighted the state’s abundant resources during a meeting with the Qatari ambassador, Dr. Ali Ghanem Alhajri, at the Qatar embassy in Abuja. Governor Buni showcased Yobe’s large quantities of Sesame seeds, Gum Arabic, and Livestock, positioning the state as a potential hub for international commodity trading.
The governor emphasized the significance of the international cargo airport in Damaturu, stating it would support international trade between Qatar and the North Eastern states. Governor Buni invited the Qatari business community to explore the economic potential in Yobe, expressing readiness for partnerships.
Commending Qatar for its support in Yobe’s recovery from security challenges, Governor Buni announced his commitment to further collaborations, welcoming the Qatari ambassador’s upcoming economic tour of Yobe State to assess and explore potential trade opportunities.
