Since March 2023, the Yobe State Government has received over 90,000 bags of grains from the Federal Government, a significant donation aimed at mitigating the hardships faced by the people of Yobe State. This announcement was made by Dr. Muhammed Goje, Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), during an interview in Damaturu.
Dr. Goje detailed the contents of the donation, which included 30,000 bags of rice and 60,000 bags of sorghum and maize. He expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for its ongoing support, stating, “The federal government’s donation is a welcome addition to our efforts to alleviate poverty in the state.”
He further emphasized that the state government has been proactive in supporting its citizens, and the federal donation significantly enhances these efforts. “The state government has been working tirelessly to provide support to its citizens,” Dr. Goje noted.
The distribution of these grains has been carefully planned to reach the most vulnerable populations across Yobe State’s 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring that those in greatest need receive the assistance they require.
