Zulum’s Commitment to Rebuilding Lives: 1,000 Housing Units for Displaced Communities
Borno Governor Babagana Zulum has offered hope to the residents of Logumani and Gajibo communities, assuring them of a swift return to their homes. These communities in Ngala and Dikwa Local Government Areas, which were devastated by Boko Haram insurgents in 2014, will soon witness the completion of 1,000 housing projects. Governor Zulum, during a recent inspection, expressed his confidence in the project’s progress, setting a two-month deadline for completion. “We will return people back to their homes, Insha’ Allah,” he stated.
The governor emphasized that the project includes essential amenities like a primary school, a health center, a police station, and a water borehole. In addition, he directed that the ongoing 500 housing units in Gajibo be finished within three months to expedite the residents’ return.
Governor Zulum highlighted the importance of ensuring food security through irrigation farming in the conflict-affected area. He affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the livelihood of returning IDPs through modern irrigation implements and tools to enhance crop yields.
