Zulum’s Compassion Shines Through: N73m Released for Orphans’ Education
In a compassionate move, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has approved the release of over N73m to cover registration fees and admission forms for orphans of civilian JTF in Nursing and Midwifery. The funds will benefit 1,878 indigenes, including 300 orphans of late Civilian JTF, hunters, and vigilantes who lost their lives in counter-insurgency operations.
Malam Bala Isa, the Executive Secretary of the State Scholarship Board, revealed that each orphan would receive N200,000 for the payment of second-year registration fees. Governor Zulum’s approval reflects his concern and support for the families of volunteer heroes who sacrificed their lives in defending the people of the state.
The focus of the state government is to produce enough frontline health workers, with 1,878 individuals selected across 27 local government areas to attend the College of Nursing. The Executive Secretary expressed gratitude to Governor Zulum for addressing the plight of widows and orphans, showcasing the state’s commitment to supporting those affected by the sacrifices of late gallant volunteers.
