Sokoto State Government Empowers 100 Women and Youths in Skill Acquisition
The Sokoto State government has taken a significant step towards socioeconomic development by empowering one hundred (100) women and youths through training in tailoring and other handcrafts. The initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Ministry for Local Government and Community Development and the Office of the Special Adviser on Community Development, underscores Governor Aliyu’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises, particularly in youth and women empowerment.
Commissioner Ibrahim Dadi-Adare highlighted the government’s dedication to fulfilling its pledges, ensuring the actualization of socioeconomic development goals. He emphasized that the training equips beneficiaries with valuable skills, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to society while becoming self-reliant. The initiative, which provides tailor machines and start-up funds of N20,000 to each graduate, aims to transform lives and positively impact the state’s socioeconomic landscape.
This empowerment program, part of Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration’s 9-Points Smart Agenda, demonstrates the government’s commitment to delivering tangible dividends of democracy. The Special Adviser on Youth Empowerment, Alhaji Garba Kebbe, praised the governor’s swift action in releasing funds for program implementation and urged continued support for the administration’s developmental efforts.
