Governor Bago Prioritizes Consumer Welfare with Inauguration of Niger State Price Control Board

In a bold move to safeguard consumer rights and ensure fair pricing across the state, Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has inaugurated the Niger State Price Control and Monitoring Board. This initiative, a key component of Governor Bago’s economic strategy, is aimed at regulating the prices of essential commodities, preventing hoarding, and ensuring that citizens are not exploited in the marketplace.

The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, who oversaw the inauguration, lauded the governor’s proactive approach to addressing economic challenges faced by residents. He emphasized that the board will play a crucial role in stabilizing commodity prices, thereby ensuring that the people of Niger State have access to affordable goods and services.

The newly established board, comprising experts in economics, consumer affairs, and market dynamics, will collaborate with various stakeholders, including local government officials, traditional institutions, and market associations, to foster a seamless and harmonious pricing system. This initiative is a clear demonstration of Governor Bago’s unwavering commitment to economic stability and the welfare of his people.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Hussaini Ahmed, pledged to work closely with all relevant parties to bring much-needed relief to the populace by ensuring fair pricing practices are upheld across the state.
