Benue State Takes Decisive Action Against Illegal Roadblocks

The Benue State Government has intensified efforts to dismantle illegal roadblocks across the state following a tragic accident in Ushongo Local Government Area. Acting Chairman of the Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), Sunday Odagba, announced the directive, highlighting the dual threat posed by these roadblocks: loss of revenue and increased security risks.
Odagba, alongside Commander Zenda Ernest Aker, solicited the support of traditional leaders in rooting out criminal elements. The state government’s firm stance reflects Governor Hyacinth Alia’s commitment to ensuring safety and security for all residents while eliminating revenue leakages caused by unauthorized checkpoints.
