Governor Aliyu Welcomes New Security Chiefs, Calls for Renewed Commitment Against Banditry

Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto has called on the newly posted heads of security agencies in the state to redouble their efforts in combating banditry and other security challenges.
During a courtesy visit at the Government House, Sokoto, Governor Aliyu emphasized that significant progress has been made in tackling insecurity, and the new security chiefs are expected to build on these successes.
“We are recording tremendous success in our fight against banditry. We expect you to give your best and continue in the spirit of your predecessors, demonstrating commitment, hard work, and selfless service,” the Governor urged.
He commended the people of Sokoto State for their peaceful nature and resilience, urging the security heads to engage communities and strengthen partnerships to enhance security efforts.
The newly posted security chiefs include:
• Brig.-Gen. A.J. Mohammed – New Garrison Commander, 8 Division, Nigerian Army
• Cpt. U.S. Maibuhu – Commander, 119 Composite Group
• Lawal Idris – Controller, Nigeria Correctional Service, Sokoto
• Usman Ishaq Alfadarai – Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps
• Ali Usman – State Coordinator, Defence Intelligence Agency
• Yusuf Musa Bage – Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service
The security chiefs commended Governor Aliyu’s proactive security measures and assured him of their commitment to making Sokoto a safer state.
