Edo First Lady Hosts Beauty Queen, Strengthens Commitment to Education and Gender Advocacy

The Office of the First Lady of Edo State, under the leadership of Mrs. Edesili Okpebolo Anani, has reaffirmed its commitment to education and gender empowerment as it warmly received Miss Daniella Oshawo, winner of the 2025 Miss Beauty Pageant International.
During a courtesy visit to the Government House in Benin City, Miss Oshawo, alongside the Twinsporium Entertainment Agency, shared her passion for education and her initiative to provide furniture to underdeveloped schools in the state.
Mrs. Anani applauded the young beauty queen’s noble cause, reiterating that the Edo State Government remains dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to quality education in a conducive learning environment.
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and critically. An investment in education pays the best interest. Education is our passport to the future, and a new Edo is rising with an improved educational system,” she stated.
Miss Oshawo, inspired by her visit to some primary schools, emphasized the urgent need for improved infrastructure, noting that her project is committed to fostering academic excellence and ensuring pupils’ comfort and engagement.
She also commended Mrs. Anani’s unwavering commitment to combating gender-based violence in the state, advocating for sustained efforts in the fight for equality and justice.
“Education is the cornerstone of societal progress, and it is imperative that our children have access to quality learning environments. This project seeks to bridge infrastructure gaps by providing essential furniture to underdeveloped schools,” she affirmed.
