Jigawa State Embraces Digital Transformation in Government Communication

The Jigawa State Government has reiterated its commitment to modernizing information management by urging government communication officers to embrace digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the dissemination of information.

Speaking at a two-day capacity-building training for Information Officers and Public Relations Officers, the Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Saqir Musa Ahmed, emphasized the need for government personnel to adopt modern communication tools to enhance public engagement and service delivery.

“The world is evolving rapidly, and technology has transformed the way information is managed. Artificial Intelligence and digital platforms now shape modern communication, and as government officers, you must adapt to remain effective in your roles,” the commissioner stated.

The Jigawa State Government reaffirmed its commitment to continuous training and development programs, ensuring that its information officers remain equipped with the latest skills to navigate the digital era effectively.

Participants at the training expressed appreciation for the government’s foresight in building digital capacity within its workforce, noting that the program would enhance their ability to communicate government policies efficiently.

In a communique issued after the workshop, Jigawa’s media personnel called on the state government to further invest in digital infrastructure and human capital development to sustain the momentum of digital transformation.

“We recognize the importance of digital media in modern governance and commit to strengthening our capacity in utilizing emerging technologies for effective information dissemination,” the communique stated.

With a strategic focus on digital inclusion, the Jigawa State Government is positioning itself as a leader in innovative governance, ensuring that public communication aligns with global best practices.
