Governor Bago Honored with Prestigious Honorary Doctorate in Agriculture by FUT Minna

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to agricultural transformation and economic development, the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) has conferred an honorary Doctorate Degree in Agriculture on Niger State Governor, His Excellency, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago.
The historic conferment ceremony, held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the university’s main campus, was attended by academics, government officials, traditional rulers, and stakeholders from across the nation.
A Champion of Agricultural Innovation
Governor Bago’s unwavering commitment to repositioning agriculture as the bedrock of Niger State’s economy has earned him national and international recognition. His flagship initiative, the ‘Niger Food Initiative’, has driven large-scale agricultural production, mechanized farming, agro-processing, and youth empowerment, positioning Niger State as a leading agricultural hub.
Speaking at the event, FUT Minna Vice-Chancellor, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, commended the Governor’s visionary leadership, describing him as a true advocate of sustainable development.
“Governor Bago’s bold policies and commitment to leveraging agriculture for economic growth are truly commendable. His leadership aligns perfectly with FUT Minna’s mission to drive innovation and address societal challenges,” Professor Kuta stated.
