Ebonyi First Lady Honoured as Special Guest at the 2024 Abakaliki Bankers Committee Dinner and Award Night
The First Lady of Ebonyi State, Her Excellency, was the Special Guest of Honour at the prestigious 2024 Abakaliki Bankers Committee Dinner and Award Night, held at Re-Meritona Hotel, Abakaliki. The event, themed “Digital Trust in Banking: The Foundation of a Secure and Resilient Financial System”, celebrated excellence and innovation in the banking sector.
Recognizing the crucial role of financial institutions in driving economic empowerment, the First Lady commended the banking sector for its unwavering commitment to financial inclusion, SME growth, and community development. She praised their innovative approaches, which continue to enhance economic opportunities in Ebonyi State.
As a mark of her immense contributions to governance and societal development, the First Lady was honored with the “Most Supportive Governor’s Wife in Nigeria” award. Expressing gratitude for the recognition, she reaffirmed her dedication to supporting her husband, Governor Nwifuru, in his transformative vision for Ebonyi State.
The event also featured the presentation of various prestigious awards to outstanding individuals and financial institutions. Mr. Daniel Ogbuogu, Branch Controller, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Ebonyi, received the “Best Controller of the Year 2024” award. Leading banks such as First Bank, UBA, Access Bank, Zenith Bank, and Fidelity Bank were recognized for their excellence in different categories.
The First Lady lauded the event organizers, particularly Mr. Daniel Ogbuogu and the Bankers Committee, for hosting a memorable evening and urged them to sustain their commitment to fostering economic development in the state.
