In a significant step towards justice reform and social reintegration, the Yobe State Government has pardoned 30 inmates across five correctional facilities in the state. This humanitarian gesture aligns with Governor Mai Mala Buni’s commitment to promoting second chances and ensuring a fair justice system.

Chief Information Officer, Alhassan Sule Mamudo, confirmed the development in Damaturu, stating that the pardon reflects the government’s efforts to decongest correctional facilities and offer deserving inmates an opportunity to rebuild their lives.

The state government remains dedicated to upholding the principles of justice and rehabilitation while encouraging former inmates to become responsible and productive members of society. This initiative also aligns with Governor Buni’s broader vision for a reformed and people-centered governance approach.
