Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to economic empowerment by launching the distribution of 10,000 free Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration certificates to unregistered Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Announcing the initiative at the 2025 Kogi State MSME & Financial Inclusion Conference, Governor Ododo emphasized that this program is a strategic step toward strengthening small businesses, improving access to financial opportunities, and fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state.

Representing the Governor, Deputy Governor Salifu Oyibo highlighted that the initiative aligns with broader economic inclusion strategies, including the establishment of an MSME cooperative society, a talent hunt initiative, and the development of an MSME hub. These complementary programs are designed to provide business owners with essential resources and market support.

Governor Ododo stressed that by removing barriers to business formalization and expanding access to funding, Kogi State is positioning itself as a leader in Nigeria’s economic transformation. He called on financial institutions, development agencies, and private sector stakeholders to collaborate in ensuring the sustainability of these initiatives.

The Managing Director of the Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA), Mohammad Kadiri Okeji, underscored the importance of engaging industry leaders, policymakers, and banks in supporting small businesses. He also announced that a comprehensive evaluation of the program would be conducted next year to assess its impact on job creation and economic growth, ensuring continued support for MSMEs through access to low-interest startup capital and technical assistance.

With these efforts, Governor Ododo continues to prioritize economic empowerment, setting Kogi State on a path to sustained prosperity.
