Governor Bago Appoints Professor Sulaiman Mohammed Hadi as Vice Chancellor of IBB University, Lapai

In a strategic move to advance academic leadership and institutional excellence, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has appointed Professor Sulaiman Mohammed Hadi as the new Vice Chancellor of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai.

A renowned scholar from the Department of Veterinary Anatomy, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Hadi’s appointment follows a rigorous selection process conducted by the university’s Governing Council. His tenure is effective from Monday, February 17, 2025, for a single term of five years.

Announcing the appointment, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, emphasized that the selection was based on merit, proven academic credentials, leadership experience, and an impeccable track record.

“By virtue of your vast experience in academia, we have no doubt that you will bring your wealth of knowledge and administrative skills to bear in advancing the University’s vision,” Usman stated.

The new Vice Chancellor is tasked with positioning IBB University as a world-class institution by:

• Strengthening faculty recruitment and retention to attract top scholars and students.

• Expanding research opportunities to foster innovation and knowledge generation.
