Katsina Deputy Governor Declares Opposition Has No Campaign Message for 2027 Elections

The Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Hon. Faruk Lawal, has stated that opposition parties in the state lack a compelling message to campaign with in the upcoming 2027 general elections, given the unmatched achievements of the Governor Dikko Umaru Radda-led administration.

Speaking at an empowerment program in Kaita, Lawal emphasized that the massive infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment projects delivered in less than two years have silenced the opposition.

“The APC-led government in Katsina State has transformed the state in ways never seen before. From road construction to water supply, healthcare, and education, our achievements speak for themselves. What will the opposition even campaign with?” Lawal said.

Highlighting key accomplishments, he noted that:

• 34,152 workers have been recruited at the local government level

• 7,325 teachers have been employed to boost the education sector

• Women and youth empowerment programs have provided direct financial assistance and skills training

He further pointed out that no other state government in Nigeria has undertaken such an extensive recruitment and development drive in such a short period.

“The results of the recent local government elections in Katsina clearly demonstrate the overwhelming support for APC in the state. The opposition has no message because we have set a development pace they cannot match,” Lawal added.

In his remarks, Dr. Kabir Magaji Gafiya, Chairman of the Katsina Basic Education Board, revealed that 600 orphans, widows, and other vulnerable individuals have been empowered with educational materials and cash assistance worth N15 million, further reinforcing the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance.
