0

The Kebbi State Government has dismissed recent claims by the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPADEC) regarding the execution of the multi-billion naira Yauri Township Water Supply Project.

A statement from the government clarified that HYPADEC’s assertion that the project was completed, but not yet supported by the state, was misleading and inaccurate.

The Yauri Water Project, designed to provide modern water storage, distribution networks, and reticulation systems, is a fully funded federal project. The Kebbi State Government has consistently met its monthly counterpart obligations to HYPADEC and remains committed to transparent and effective governance.

Governor Nasir Idris has reaffirmed that his administration will not support project duplication or misrepresentation of facts. He emphasized that his government is focused on socio-economic transformation and infrastructural development, ensuring that every project serves the best interests of Kebbi residents.
