Katsina Government’s Special Ramadan Feeding Program Targets Vulnerable Citizens

In a renewed effort to support the less privileged during Ramadan, the Katsina State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing essential food support to vulnerable citizens through the 2025 Special Ramadan Feeding Program.
Speaking at the State Steering Committee meeting on the Ramadan Feeding Package, Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Yahya Daura, reiterated that the initiative is targeted at ensuring that disadvantaged members of the community have access to nutritious meals throughout the fasting period.
The meeting, attended by key stakeholders, including the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Sani Aliyu Daura, discussed strategies to enhance the successful implementation of the program, which was first introduced under Governor Dikko Umar Radda’s administration.
According to Alhaji Sani Aliyu Daura, food items will be distributed to all 34 local government areas by Friday, with funds allocated to cover logistical costs for a 15-day feeding period. He urged committee members to ensure fair and transparent distribution of resources.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Alhaji Ya’u Umar Gojo Gojo, outlined the local government-level committee structure, which includes state lawmakers, council chairpersons, commissioners, and religious leaders from the Izala and Darika Islamic sects.
With over 10,000 bags of rice, cooking oil, and soup ingredients procured for the program, the distribution centers have been established based on the number of electoral wards in each LGA.
Governor Radda’s administration remains dedicated to ensuring that no fasting citizen goes hungry, reinforcing the government’s commitment to social welfare and religious inclusivity.
