Lagos Government Grants Provisional Approvals to 70 Private Schools for 2025

The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), has granted provisional approval to 70 private schools across the state, reinforcing its commitment to educational excellence and regulatory compliance.
During the presentation ceremony at the Education Resource Centre, Ojodu, Ikeja, the Supervising Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Sesan Ogundeko, emphasized the government’s resolve to uphold high educational standards while recognizing the significant role of private schools in the state’s education sector.
He highlighted that only 70 out of over 100 applicants met the state’s stringent approval criteria, following a rigorous process that included site inspections, documentation reviews, and compliance checks.
The Coordinating Director of OEQA, Mr. Remi Abdul, reaffirmed the government’s dedication to qualitative education, urging school owners to adhere strictly to child protection policies.
Representatives of newly approved schools expressed their appreciation, describing the process as thorough and transparent, while commending the Lagos State Government’s investment in educational quality assurance.
